On January 15 at 10:02 PM Police responded to a reported Motor vehicle crash on the 400 Block of Division St. Upon Police arrival the Officer observed a vehicle crashed into a telephone pole and the vehicle to be inoperable. A witness told the Officer that he observed a tall white male wearing a black jacket walk away from the vehicle in the direction of Spruce St after the crash. Additional patrols checked the area and the registered owner and driver was located on Birch St. The driver was identified as David S. Sromek age 28 of Boonton. Police conducted an investigation and the driver was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing, He was charged with Reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while intoxicated, Possession of CDS and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. He was processed and released pending a court date.

On January 20 at 10:55 PM Police observed a vehicle traveling on West Main St with an equipment violation. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and the driver, identified as Richard K Kaminski, age 49 of Budd Lake. The officer when speaking with the driver detected an odor of alcoholic beverage as well as slurred speech. The driver was placed under arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was charged with Failure to maintain lamps, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. He was released pending a court date.

On January 23 at 8:04 AM Police took a report of suspicious activity from a resident of Margareta Rd. The resident reported that it appeared that someone entered the vehicles that were parked in the driveway. It didn’t appear anything was missing. Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles.

On January 23, at 12:42 PM Veronica R Doriety age 25 of Boonton posted bail on an outstanding warrant from Montclair. She was processed and released after posting $89.00 bail.
