On March 11, at 12:50 AM police arrested Tyler Zipfel Age 22 of Pompton Lakes for allegedly driving while intoxicated. Zipfel was stopped on Interstate 287 North for allegedly speeding and the officer detected an odor of alcoholic beverage. After investigation Zipfel was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with Speeding, Reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. He was released pending a court date.

On March 12 at 1:11 AM Richard T Holmberg III turned himself in on an outstanding warrant out of Sussex County. He was placed in a holding cell in Police Headquarters while awaiting Sussex County Sheriffs Department Officers to pick him up. Mr. Holmberg was additionally charged with criminal mischief for allegedly urinating on the floor of the cell. He was turned over to Sussex County Sheriffs Department.

On March 13, at 9:00 PM Police charged Noel L Patane age 19 of Pompton Plains with Shoplifting. She allegedly concealed $39.00 worth of merchandise at the Wal Mart and left the store. She was processed and released pending a court date.

On March 15 at 9:06 PM Police arrested Bryan P Bozeman age 19 of Boonton for Trespassing. Mr. Bozeman allegedly entered a residence on Liberty St after being told he was not allowed on the property. He was processed and turned over to Morristown Police on an outstanding warrant from that jurisdiction.

On March 16, at 1:54 AM Patrolman Christopher Petonak observed a van fitting a description of a stolen vehicle from Lake Hiawatha. Petonak followed the vehicle and pulled the vehicle over on the 100 block of Old Boonton Road. The driver ran from the vehicle and was chased on foot by Officer Petonak. The suspect was taken into custody and identified as James M Canning age 31 of Lake Hiawatha. He was charged with Possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal to submit to a breath test, and terroristic threats for allegedly telling officers that he would kill them. He was processed and released after posting Bail.

On March 16 at 1:56 PM Police responded to Wal Mart on a reported shoplifting. Wal Mart Security reported that a couple had attempted to remove an Apple I-pad 2 from the store by removing it from the packaging and concealing it. Police charged Michael A Imperiale age 48 of Kearney and Natalie A Rogers age 42 of Kearny with shoplifting. They were processed and released pending a court date.

On March 17 at 1:03 am Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on the 400 block of William St. for an alleged equipment violation. The Driver was identified as Joshua I O’Neil age 21 of Lake Hiawatha. He was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and additionally charged with failure to maintain lamps, No insurance, driving while suspended and reckless driving. He was processed and released pending a court date.

On March 17 at 9:32 PM police conducted a motor vehicle stop on frontage Rd. for an alleged equipment violation. The driver identified as Dino Torluccio age 35 of West Caldwell was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with failure to maintain lamps, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. He was released pending a court date.

On March 18 at 4:20 PM police responded to Wal Mart on a reported shoplifter. While police were responding that were notified that the suspect fled on foot and was running along the railroad tracks. Patrols located a suspect fitting the suspect’s description on Myrtle Ave. Police arrested Frank J Deriancho age 29 of Randolph and charged him with shoplifting. He was processed and turned over to Denville Police on an outstanding warrant from that jurisdiction.

A charge is merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty
